Carry up to two bikes at a time on your spare-tire-equipped Jeep or SUV with the Yakima Sparetime bike rack. The Sparetime is easy to install, with a premium design that attaches directly to your spare tire's mounting bolts to create a secure, snug fit. As a result, you'll enjoy full peace of mind whether you're driving down the highway or along a gravelly country road.

The Sparetime includes two integrated bottle openers for kicking back at the campsite.
The rack's anti-sway cradles, meanwhile, hold two bikes securely without knocking them together, so you won't have to worry about scratches or dents as you drive. And once you arrive at your destination, the arms fold down and out of the way, giving you easy access to your spare tire or backdoor. Perhaps the coolest feature, however, is the Sparetime's pair of integrated bottle openers. Want to open a couple of cool ones at the campsite or trailhead but don't have a bottle opener in your spandex shorts? Not a problem with the Sparetime.

The Sparetime comes with a universal mounting plate, two extensions designed to fit most lug patterns, and a 60-inch locking cable that secures the bikes to the rack. The plate also supports both centered and off-centered mounting, depending on which orientation is most convenient and stable. SKS-lockable for added security, the rack--which is made of durable powder-coated steel--measures 13.75 by 30.5 by 18 inches (W x H x D) with arms extended.

The Sparetime fits spare tire widths P195 to P318 (12.5 inches), but will not fit a spare tire mount with an eight-hole bolt pattern or hole-pattern diameter greater than 5.5 inches.

About Yakima
Yakima has been dedicated to eradicating "rack envy" for more than 30 years. The company employs a ton of cyclists, campers, skiers, snowboarders, climbers, hikers, and kayakers, all of whom load up their car racks and take to the forests, slopes, and waterways every chance they get. This dedication helps Yakima come up with new ideas and inspirations each year. Ideas like, "Hey, let's make a snow mount you can operate with gloves on so we don't get a debilitating case of popsicle finder." Or, "Let's put padding and nets in our cargo boxes so gear doesn't rattle around like it's in a giant maraca." And, "Let's put integrated bottle openers on hitch-mount bike racks, since you can't carry one around while you're wearing spandex fancy pants." Boasting a legacy of innovation and quality, Yakima is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon.

If you have a spare tire on the rear of your vehicle and you want to transport up to 2 bikes, the SpareTime is your most premium bike carrier option. It attaches directly to your spare tire’s mounting bolts for a secure, snug fit, allowing you peace of mind while traveling down the road.
